Speaking at the opening of the congress, Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Xuan Truong - Secretary of the school's Party Committee, Chairman of the school's Council affirmed that the 21st Congress of the Party Committee of the University of Mining and Geology, term 2025 - 2030, is of great significance, guiding Party members in the entire Party Committee to continue to improve the leadership capacity and fighting strength of the Party; promote the combined strength of all Party members, cadres and civil servants of the School in building and developing the school.
On behalf of the Party Committee of the University of Mining and Geology for the 2020 - 2025 term, Prof. Dr. Tran Thanh Hai - Standing Member of the Party Committee, Principal of the School presented a political report at the Congress, highlighting the achievements that the 20th Congress has achieved as well as the directions, goals and tasks set by the School's Party Committee for the 2025 - 2030 term.
Speaking at the congress, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Son, member of the City Party Committee, Secretary of the Party Committee of the Hanoi University and College Bloc, said that in nearly 60 years of construction and development, the University of Mining and Geology has become a leading center for training and scientific research in the fields of Earth Sciences, Mining, Natural Resources - Environment and many other scientific fields.
The school has created thousands of engineers, teachers, scientists, teachers, managers across the country, especially in remote areas, border areas, and islands, contributing to the cause of protecting the country.
The school's training scale is constantly expanding with nearly 18,000 students, graduate students and doctoral students; 79 majors of undergraduate training, master's and doctoral degrees, with nearly 670 staff, civil servants and workers, including 56 professors and associate professors, 216 doctors, etc.
Detecting the work of Party building as the key and decisive, the Party Committee has seriously implemented the directives, resolutions and conclusions of the Party, and at the same time developed an action program to closely follow the actual situation of the school.
The work of political and ideological education among cadres, lecturers and students has received attention, especially the study and following of Uncle Ho's example has been implemented with many rich, creative and practical contents, contributing to raising political awareness, educating ethics, discipline and lifestyle among cadres, lecturers and students" - Mr. Son emphasized.
After a day of serious work with a democratic, responsible, fair and objective spirit, the Congress elected the 21st Executive Committee of the School Party Committee, term 2025-2030, consisting of 15 comrades with sufficient capacity and qualities to shoulder the responsibilities assigned by the Party Committee and cadres and party members of the University of Mining and Geology.
Associate Professor, Dr. Tran Xuan Truong continues to be elected as Secretary of the Party Committee of the University of Mining and Geology.
