Manhunt International 26th is taking place in Sri Lanka with the participation of 36 contestants. The representative of Vietnam this year is Tran Tien Dung.
Sharing with Lao Dong after three days of participating, Tran Tien Dung said that he is in a fairly comfortable and excited mood. The continuous schedule also gives him the opportunity to observe and evaluate the correlation between contestants before important performances.
When standing next to international representatives, I realize that each person has their own strengths and colors. Some are outstanding in physique, some are strong in performance ability, while some contestants have very good communication and connection skills," Tran Tien Dung shared.
According to the representative of Vietnam, after the early days, he paid special attention to contestants from Puerto Rico, Spain, South Africa, France, Canada, India, Mexico, Dominican Republic, Brazil and Nigeria.
These are all opponents that Tien Dung assessed as having serious preparation, possessing different strengths from physique, performance skills to communication.
However, the male model believes that competing with strong candidates helps him see more clearly the points that need improvement.
I don't see a strong opponent as pressure but as motivation to improve myself. I can't control how others prepare, but I can control how I appear. Opponents can be very strong, but I believe I can also stand with them," he said.
Tran Tien Dung said that in the early days, he did not focus on immediately becoming the most prominent person. Instead, the representative of Vietnam chose to maintain stable energy, participate in activities and actively connect with other contestants.
According to Tien Dung, an international competition not only evaluates appearance but also cares about performance ability, communication, behavior as well as how each contestant performs the role of national representative.
However, before the decisive stage, the Vietnamese representative did not hide her goal of competing for the highest position.
I think if I go to an international competition and only set a goal to be in the Top, sometimes I am limiting myself. I want to set the highest goal and try step by step to get closer to it," Tien Dung shared.
He also acknowledged that the final result depends on many factors and decisions of the judges. "I don't want to come here just to be present. I want to leave a mark," the Vietnamese representative said.
Tran Tien Dung was born in 1997, in Phu Tho, 1.86 m tall, weighing 79 kg. He graduated with a degree in Business Administration from Hanoi University of Science and Technology, used to work in the field of marketing before pursuing a modeling career.
Manhunt International was first held in 1993. Vietnam once won the highest achievement at the competition when Ngoc Tinh was crowned in 2017.
The 26th Manhunt International final is scheduled to take place on September 9 in Sri Lanka.
