On November 4, the Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control (CDC) said that in the first 10 months of 2025, the whole province recorded nearly 7,000 cases of dengue fever (an increase of 2.6 times compared to the same period last year), more than 2,300 cases of hand, foot and mouth disease (an increase of 22%) and more than 7,300 cases of influenza strains.
Notably, influenza A is on the rise, with nearly 340 new cases in the past week alone, raising concerns about the risk of an outbreak in the community.
According to the provincial health sector, the cause of the increase in infectious diseases is due to the changing seasons, erratic sunshine, creating favorable conditions for bacteria and viruses to develop.
Doctor Ton That Toan - Deputy Director of Khanh Hoa Center for Disease Control (CDC) said that Khanh Hoa CDC has synchronously deployed many solutions: proactively spraying mosquito repellent, organizing mosquito repellent vaccination campaigns in households and communities, closely monitoring outbreaks, and thoroughly handling cases.
At the same time, train and improve the capacity of treatment and disease monitoring for medical staff.
The provincial health sector warned that when many infectious diseases appear at the same time, the risk of "epidemic overlap" is very high if people are subjective.
To protect the health of themselves and the community, people need to increase vaccination, environmental sanitation, mosquito control, and go to medical facilities when there are signs of suspected illness for timely examination and treatment.
