On April 12, in the Northwest Square area, Son La Provincial People's Committee organized the Launching Ceremony of the All People's Health Day with the participation of more than 1,600 people.
The program includes rallies, health exercise performances, walking parades and free examination and screening for high blood pressure and diabetes, and health counseling for people.

With the theme "Proactive disease prevention - For a healthy Vietnam", Son La province has implemented many activities to raise community awareness about disease prevention and health care. Localities simultaneously organize peak periods in response with many sports activities such as jogging, cycling, modern dance, pickleball.
Mr. Tran Thanh Binh - Deputy Director of Son La Department of Health, said: The health sector will promote free health check-ups, counseling, and screening; nutritional counseling, mental health counseling; strengthening vaccination, disease prevention and control; periodic health check-ups for risk groups.

According to the Provincial Center for Disease Control, the whole province currently has nearly 69,000 people being monitored for high blood pressure; more than 26,000 people with diabetes. Every year, the unit implements non-communicable disease prevention and control programs; strengthens communication, and changes health behavior.
At the program, people aged 40 and over are examined, blood pressure measured, diabetes screening and free health consultations.


Mr. Tong Van Huy (100 years old), Cong Noi village, Chieng Coi ward, shared: "I am very happy to be examined, have my blood pressure measured, diabetes checked, and have my doctor advised me on a diet and exercise regimen suitable for the elderly.
The People's Health Day activity contributes to spreading the message "Proactive disease prevention", encouraging people to exercise physically, build a healthy lifestyle, and improve the quality of life.
