On March 21, Son La city held a meeting of the Steering Committee for the implementation of Resolution No. 18-NQ/TW on continuing to innovate and reorganize the apparatus of the political system in the direction of streamlining, effective and efficient operations.
At the conference, representatives of the City Urban Management Department presented a plan to merge and consolidate commune-level administrative units in the area. Accordingly, based on the instructions of the Central and the province, along with the history of urban development, general planning and zoning, socio-economic conditions, inter-regional transportation, etc., Son La city proposed to arrange from 12 commune-level units to 3 units.
The merger will ensure synchronization in urban development, improve management efficiency, and at the same time reduce units, contributing to saving the budget and human resources.
Also at the conference, the leaders of the City Department of Internal Affairs thoroughly grasped Decree No. 67/2025/ND-CP of the Government, regulating policies for cadres, civil servants, public employees and workers affected by the restructuring of the apparatus.
Concluding the conference, Son La City Party Secretary Ha Trung Chien requested departments, professional boards and the City People's Committee to continue to complete the merger plan in accordance with regulations, ensuring progress to submit to the Provincial People's Committee for approval. At the same time, review the staff, prepare to rearrange work after the arrangement to ensure stable organization and ideology for staff and workers.
