On January 12, Phu My Ward People's Committee (Ho Chi Minh City) said that it had issued a decision to administratively fine N.H bread establishment in the area the amount of 15 million VND for not having a certificate of establishment meeting food safety conditions when doing business in food services.
Previously, hundreds of people in Phu My ward came to medical facilities and hospitals to treat food poisoning symptoms, all having in common that they used bread from this facility.
According to Phu My Ward People's Committee, statistics show that there are 125 cases in the area with symptoms of poisoning after using bread. Functional agencies have taken samples for testing according to regulations.
During the administrative inspection process, employees of this banh mi establishment, although they have been trained in food safety knowledge; have contracts to supply raw materials... but do not have a certificate of establishment meeting food safety conditions.
Currently, the locality is still waiting for the conclusion of the Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety to have a basis for resolving the case according to regulations.
