HCMC - Currently, there are 235 people suspected of food poisoning after eating bread at the No. Bich toad bread shop system. Most cases of the disease eat bread at Branch 1 Nguyen Thai Son.

Regarding the suspected poisoning incident after eating bread at the No. Bich toad bakery system, on the morning of November 10, the Department of Medical Affairs - Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health informed that as of 8:00 a.m. on the same day, there were 235 cases from 13 hospitals, of which 96 cases were being treated as inpatients. Currently, most of the cases are temporarily stable, 1 case is severe due to underlying diseases and is being actively treated at Gia Dinh People's Hospital.

Military Hospital 175 has 131 cases, of which 23 are being treated as inpatients, with no more serious cases. Tam Anh General Hospital has 26 cases, of which 13 are being treated as inpatients.

Gia Dinh People's Hospital has 52 cases, of which 34 are being treated as inpatients, 1 patient has a blood culture positive for Salmonella, 1 patient has a serious case of intensive care, ventilating for respiratory failure due to pneumonia, the main cause of which is underlying disease.

Binh Dan Hospital has 1 case and has been discharged. My Duc Tan Binh Hospital has 1 case of a 28-year-old pregnant woman who is being treated as a inpatient. Currently, the pregnant woman is stable, no fever, stable vital signs, no abdominal pain, and a normal fetal heart.

Becamex International Hospital has 9 cases undergoing inpatient treatment, no serious cases have been recorded. Trung My Tay General Hospital has 7 cases undergoing inpatient treatment, with no serious cases.

Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital has 1 inpatient treatment case. Khanh Hoi General Hospital has 1 inpatient treatment case. Children's Hospital 2 has 2 inpatient cases.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, branch 1 (Cho Lon ward) has 2 cases, of which 1 case has been transferred to Thong Nhat Hospital for treatment, 1 case has been transferred to Trung My Tay Hospital.

Ho Chi Minh City University of Medicine and Pharmacy Hospital, branch 3 (Phu Nhuan ward) has 2 cases, is receiving inpatient treatment, is no longer vomiting, no diarrhea, and still has abdominal pain.

People's Hospital 115 has had 1 case, ate bread at Le Quang Dinh branch 2 4 days ago, vomited many times, had abdominal pain, fluid and cold fever for 2 days now, and is currently asking to go home for outpatient treatment.

The Department of Medical Affairs has advised the City People's Committee, the Ministry of Health and documents directing hospitals to ensure admission, classification and handling in accordance with the food poisoning treatment regimen issued by the Department of Health. At the same time, implement a quick reporting regime to the Department of Health including admission status, severe cases, microbiological results and complications (if any).

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Health believes that initially, clinical and paraclinical data of most patients were suitable for intestinal cultural agents, most likely Salmonella. The results of a blood culture at Gia Dinh People's Hospital also tested positive for Salmonella.

The Ho Chi Minh City Department of Food Safety has temporarily suspended the operation of the related facility to investigate, collect food samples and environmental samples. At the same time, carry out professional steps to determine the cause of the poisoning according to proper authority.

The inspectorate of Hanh Thong ward recorded that Co Bich toad loafery had registered its business according to Business Registration Certificate No. 41M8041525 issued by the People's Committee of Go Vap District on May 7, 2020.

Co Bich toad has a main store on Nguyen Thai Son Street (Hanh Thong Ward) and a branch 2 on Le Quang Dinh Street (Binh Loi Trung Ward). This store sells on a food delivery application. It is known that this bakery opens from 4:30 am every day and sells until 6:30 pm every day.
