The program "Training to improve communication skills for rabies prevention and control through schools" initiated by Boehringer Ingelheim Vietnam has closed phase 1 in Tay Ninh, contributing to raising awareness of rabies prevention and control for nearly 30,000 students.
After more than 2 months of implementation, nearly 120 teachers and core health staff of 58 primary and secondary schools were trained according to the "Train the Trainer" model, thereby directly imparting knowledge and skills to recognize, prevent and handle the risk of rabies exposure to students.
The content is conveyed through visual materials such as comics, notebooks, suitable for school age.
The program is implemented in coordination with universities, agriculture, health and education sectors of Tay Ninh province, within the framework of the global initiative STOP Rabies - Repel Rabies, implemented in Vietnam from 2021.
It is expected that in 2026, the model will continue to be expanded to secondary schools in Lam Dong province.
