Develop synchronous logistics infrastructure
According to the Border Trade Development Plan for the period 2026–2030, orientation to 2050, Tay Ninh province aims to become a transit point for import and export goods of the Southern Key Economic Region to Cambodia, Laos, Thailand and ASEAN countries.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade Huynh Dang Khoa, the province strives to increase the total value of import and export goods through border gates by an average of 7.5%/year or more. At the same time, continue to complete the planning of border gate economic zones, international border gates, main border gates and auxiliary border gates, creating new momentum to promote socio-economic development in border areas, closely linked to the task of ensuring national defense and security.

In parallel, the province focuses on synchronously investing in technical infrastructure and commercial infrastructure at international border gates, main border gates, and auxiliary border gates, basically meeting the needs of import and export of goods across borders.
The transportation system connecting to border gates will be developed synchronously, interconnected with logistics infrastructure, commercial centers, and services, thereby strongly promoting import and export activities, transit of goods and import and export - entry across borders to form a complete supply chain connecting Ho Chi Minh City - Southeast - Mekong Delta and Cambodia.
The province also advocates creating a favorable, transparent, and open environment to encourage all economic sectors to participate in border trade development," Mr. Huynh Dang Khoa said.
Initial results have shown clear effectiveness. In 2025, the total import and export turnover of goods under commercial contracts through border gates in the province reached over 3 billion USD; of which exports were over 1 billion USD, imports were over 2 billion USD. The value of goods traded and exchanged by border residents reached nearly 2,000 billion VND; transit goods reached 7.6 billion USD; transit goods over 3 billion USD. These are figures proving Tay Ninh's increasingly prominent role in the regional logistics chain.
Mr. Le Van Han - Chairman of Tay Ninh Provincial People's Committee - said that with its position as the southwest gateway of the Southeast region, adjacent to the Kingdom of Cambodia, Tay Ninh province is gradually realizing the goal of becoming a strategic connecting center between the Southeast region and the Mekong Delta by 2030, and also a strategic trading hub with Cambodia and the ASEAN region.
Removing bottlenecks, expanding cooperation
In addition to infrastructure investment, Tay Ninh pays special attention to removing "bottlenecks" in procedures and cross-border coordination mechanisms. Most recently, on November 3, 2025, the province reached an agreement with the Administrative Boards of Prey Veng, Svay Rieng and Tboung Khmum provinces (Cambodia) on creating favorable conditions for vehicles transporting goods across the border.

Mr. Huynh Dang Khoa said that this agreement allows vehicles of both sides to temporarily import - re-export more flexibly, shorten the delivery time of goods, and reduce logistics costs for businesses. At the same time, improve customs clearance capacity at border gates. This is considered an important step forward in improving the investment and business environment in border areas.
Notably, it will open up an effective cooperation mechanism to exploit the newly upgraded Tan Nam - Meun Chey international border gate pair, gradually forming a new transport - commercial route connecting Tay Ninh with eastern Cambodia. When this route goes into stable operation, the volume of goods transiting through the area is forecast to increase sharply, contributing to affirming the province's logistics leading role.
In the coming time, Tay Ninh will continue to complete the planning of border gate economic zones, call for investment in building a large-scale logistics center in the international border gate area; promote the application of digital transformation in customs management, quarantine, and vehicle management; and create a favorable environment for all economic sectors to participate in border trade development.
Tay Ninh currently has a border line nearly 369 km long, bordering 3 provinces of Svay Rieng, Tboung Khmum and Prey Veng of Cambodia. The whole province has 21 border gates, including 4 international border gates including Moc Bai, Xa Mat, Tan Nam and Binh Hiep; 4 main border gates are Chang Riec, Ka Tum, Phuoc Tan, My Quy Tay and 13 sub-border gates. Many border gates have been fully equipped with specialized forces, meeting management requirements and creating favorable conditions for import and export and trade of goods.
Along with 3 key border gate economic zones (Long An, Moc Bai, Xa Mat), Tay Ninh is gradually promoting its border advantages to become a center for connecting trade, services and logistics between Vietnam and Cambodia and the Mekong sub-region. This is an important foundation to help Tay Ninh rise to become a dynamic trading gateway of the Southeast region.
