Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hoat - Chairman of the People's Committee of Cam Hung Commune (Cam Xuyen District) - said that at around 5:00 p.m. on May 15, some people discovered 2 children drowning in the Ngang stream area (in Hung Thang village) and called for help.
However, after searching and bringing the two children up, both of them died. The identities of the two victims were identified as C.T.K.O (grade 2 student, residing in Hung Tien village, Cam Hung commune) and T.D.D (grade 6 student, residing in Cam Son commune, Cam Xuyen district).
It is known that D returned to his maternal hometown to play and then suspected that they were going swimming together, so he drowned.
Currently, the bodies of the two victims have been handed over to their families for funeral and burial according to local customs.
