According to the Bac Ninh Department of Home Affairs Electronic Information Portal, a report from the Provincial Department of Home Affairs shows that in 2025, the whole province recorded 139 labor accidents, causing 139 victims; of which 12 people died and 32 people were seriously injured.
The total cost related to labor accidents is about 3.566 billion VND, not including long-term losses for workers, families and business production activities.
In the first 6 months of 2026, the whole province continued to record 92 cases, causing 98 victims; including 10 deaths and 42 seriously injured people.
Notably, the number of deaths in just the first half of the year was equal to 10/12 cases of the whole year 2025, while the number of seriously injured people was higher than the whole previous year.
Accidents occur in many manufacturing industries, notably garment, electronic component production, mechanical engineering - construction, construction materials production and packaging weaving.
Analysis of accidents in 2025 shows 42 cases related to victims violating regulations, procedures or safety working measures;
26 cases due to lack of safety procedures and measures; 23 cases due to unreasonable labor organization; 18 cases due to not using or using personal protective equipment that is not guaranteed;
17 cases due to lack of safety equipment and 12 cases due to lack of training or incomplete training.
These figures show that many accidents can be completely prevented if safety measures are implemented fully and substantively.
The 2015 Law on Occupational Safety and Health, the 2019 Labor Code and related decrees, circulars and technical regulations have clearly stipulated the responsibilities of employers: Identifying and controlling dangerous and harmful factors; organizing training; equipping personal protective equipment; inspecting machinery and equipment with strict requirements; monitoring the working environment; health care and implementing regimes for people with occupational accidents and diseases.
Over the past time, Bac Ninh province has strengthened many directing and preventive activities.
The Department of Home Affairs issued documents on ensuring safety when using and operating lifting vehicles; launched a self-review and rectification of OSH work at the workplace; organized training for nearly 300 businesses and continued to guide compliance with labor laws, employment, social insurance, OSH in production conditions and weather with many abnormalities.
In particular, Directive No. 08/CT-UBND dated April 11, 2026 of the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee requests to strengthen propaganda, training, and inspection of law compliance; focus on high-risk industries and jobs; and at the same time improve the effectiveness of coordination in investigating and resolving serious labor accidents.
Management focus is shifting from general propaganda to checking the level of substantive compliance at enterprises and right on the production site.
