On June 17, the Party Cell of Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board held the 5th Congress for the 2025 - 2030 term.
In the past term, the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board Party Cell organized 96 political activities with 2,789 civil servants, party members, and the masses in the agency participating. The work of building the Party organization is closely organized and demonstrated in all aspects of innovation in political and ideological education; strengthening the responsibility of setting an example for Party members and cadres, especially leaders.
Identifying anti-corruption and anti-negativity as an important task in Party building and rectification, determined to prevent negative corruption from occurring. Promote the application of information technology, digitalise records, e-government associated with administrative procedure reform, increase the trust and satisfaction of people and businesses.
Good management of investment projects, accumulated to date in Phu Quoc Economic Zone is 320 investment projects in functional areas with a total investment capital of about 431,300 billion VND. The work of reviewing project implementation progress is identified as a key and regular task. To date, 54 projects have been put into operation, 96 projects are under construction. Also during the term, 34 projects were reclaimed, an increase of 16 projects compared to the previous term.
Zoning plans and detailed plans are regularly reviewed and compared to recommend competent authorities to adjust zoning plans that are not in accordance with development requirements. The quality of appraisal and approval of adjustments to detailed plans has been increasingly improved, ensuring compliance with the general planning zoning plan, thereby creating favorable conditions for investors.
Over the past 5 years, the Management Board has submitted to the Provincial People's Committee for approval 21 projects to adjust the zoning plan; approved 210 projects for 136 projects. Timely support investors to apply investment incentives, exempt land rent, and create favorable conditions for investors to quickly implement projects. As a result, 65 decisions were issued, allocating land for land lease with an area of 439.62 hectares, supporting VND19,000 billion.
Speaking at the Congress, Deputy Secretary of Phu Quoc City Party Committee Dinh Khoa Toan highly appreciated the results achieved in the past term of the Party Cell, contributing to the overall development of Phu Quoc City. He also emphasized the orientations for the challenges and opportunities that Phu Quoc will face in the next 5 years, requesting the Party Cell to further promote the spirit of solidarity, proactively and creatively focus on planning, investment promotion, administrative reform and improving the quality of human resources to meet the development requirements of Phu Quoc in the coming time.
At this Congress, 5 comrades were elected to the Executive Committee of the 5th term for the 2025 - 2030 term. Comrade Nguyen Thanh Tung, Head of the Phu Quoc Economic Zone Management Board, continued to be elected by the congress as Party cell secretary.
