On June 11, Phu My Ward Police (HCMC) said that the Investigation Police Agency of HCMC Police has issued a decision to prosecute the case, prosecute the defendant, and execute an arrest warrant for Le Van Hoan (born in 1994, residing in Dong Nai) to investigate the act of "Theft of property".
Previously, on June 2, Phu My Ward Police received a report from Mr. D. V. T (born in 2001) about the loss of a black and white Honda motorbike without license plates, worth about 38 million VND. According to the report, at 10:30 PM on May 30, Mr. T was driving a motorbike on National Highway 51, due to fatigue, he stopped to rest in the sidewalk area near the gate of Phan Chu Trinh Secondary School (Thi Vai neighborhood, Phu My ward). About an hour later, when Mr. T woke up, he discovered that his motorbike had been stolen.
After receiving information, Phu My Ward Police urgently examined the scene, collected documents and evidence, and deployed professional measures to verify and track down the perpetrator. Through this, focusing on Le Van Hoan, who has no stable job and often lives as a vagrant in the border areas between Ho Chi Minh City and Dong Nai City.
On June 3, Phu My Ward Police discovered Hoan playing games at an internet cafe in the area, so they invited him to the headquarters to work. Through this, Hoan confessed to stealing Mr. T's motorbike. After stealing the vehicle, the subject drove to the parking lot of a hospital in Long Thanh area (Dong Nai) to hide it, waiting for an opportunity to take it for consumption.
According to Phu My Ward Police, the quick investigation, tracing, and quick arrest of property thieves demonstrate the proactive and drastic spirit of the unit in the work of fighting and preventing crime, contributing to maintaining security and order in the area.
At the same time, it is recommended that people need to raise their awareness of self-protection of property; do not leave keys on the car when there is no one watching; lock the handlebars and locks more carefully and park the car in places with managers to limit the risk of becoming victims of property thieves.
