On July 29, Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune Police (Gia Lai) said they are investigating and clarifying the case of illegal sand mining on the Kon River, passing through Luc Le village to handle according to regulations.
According to initial information, at about 1:40 pm on July 27, Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune Police received a report from people about a subject using an excavator to illegally mine sand in the Con River alluvial ground area, Luc Le village.
Immediately after that, the police force was present to inspect the scene. Detecting functional forces, the subject driving the excavator immediately stopped mining, abandoned the vehicle and left the scene.
Through inspection, functional forces discovered 1 excavator and 3 piles of wet sand, with a total estimated volume of about 98m3.
Currently, Tuy Phuoc Bac Commune Police are continuing to verify related subjects, investigate and clarify the case for handling according to the provisions of law.
