In 2025, in the context of arranging the organizational structure, operating the two-level local government model and being heavily affected by natural disasters and epidemics, Cao Bang province has focused on leadership and drastic direction, achieving many important results in various fields.
The economy maintained a fairly strong growth momentum with GRDP reaching 7.22% - the highest level in the term. Total state budget revenue reached nearly 4,500 billion VND, far exceeding the estimates assigned by the Central Government and the Provincial People's Council.
Import and export turnover reached more than 1.57 billion USD, an increase of 66% compared to the previous year. Total retail sales of goods and service revenue increased by over 13%.

Agricultural and forestry production is basically stable; the whole province planted nearly 2,200ha of new forest. Public investment capital disbursement reached over 9,000 billion VND, equivalent to 88.3% of the plan, of which central capital reached over 100%.
Many key infrastructure projects and projects have been implemented such as opening phase 1, starting phase 2 of the Dong Dang - Tra Linh expressway; starting construction of 11 inter-level boarding general schools in border communes; actively preparing to invest in the Bac Kan - Cao Bang expressway.
The cultural and social sector has many positive changes. Tourism has recovered strongly with nearly 2.6 million visitors, an increase of more than 40%; tourism revenue reached 2,549 billion VND, exceeding the plan. The poverty rate decreased by 4.04%, exceeding the set target. National defense and security were maintained, social order and safety were stable, and national border sovereignty was firmly protected.
The conference focused on discussing solutions to implement tasks in 2026 and the entire term 2025 - 2030, in which it emphasized the goal of striving for double-digit growth, creating momentum for the development of industrial, mining, and import-export sectors; accelerating the disbursement of public investment capital, increasing budget revenue and digital transformation.

Speaking at the conclusion of the conference, Provincial Party Secretary Phan Thang An emphasized that 2026 is the first year of the 20th term of the Provincial Party Committee, requesting all levels and sectors to soon concretize resolutions into specific programs and action plans.
The province identifies sustainable tourism development as a key economic sector, associated with the UNESCO Global Geopark of Cao Bang Mountains and Waters; and at the same time develop forest economy and border gate economy in a methodical and modern direction.

The Provincial Party Secretary requested to continue to care for socio-cultural development, improve people's lives, and sustainably reduce poverty; prepare well for the election of National Assembly deputies of the XVI term and People's Councils at all levels for the 2026-2031 term; ensure that all people, especially people with meritorious services, poor households, and people in remote and isolated areas, can celebrate the 2026 Binh Ngo Lunar New Year safely and fully.
