Joining hands to restore livelihoods for people in the Central region after storms and floods

The Vietnam Cooperative Alliance responds to the Quang Trung Campaign, joining hands to restore livelihoods for people in the Central region.

Responding to the Quang Trung Campaign launched by the Government to accelerate post-disaster reconstruction, the Institute of Science, Technology and Environment (INOSTE) under the Vietnam Cooperative Alliance has coordinated with the International Labor Organization (ILO) to implement a livelihood support program for cooperatives in Thanh Hoa, Nghe An and Ha Tinh.

The program focuses on the model of workers paying wages, directly providing financial support for cooperative members participating in environmental cleaning activities, restoring production facilities, and repairing works affected by the storm. This is considered an urgent solution, helping people have an immediate source of income, while supporting cooperatives to soon stabilize production, maintain jobs and life.

In addition to cash support, INOSTE and ILO also organize training courses on labor safety, disaster risk reduction and improving community response capacity for cooperative staff and members. These contents help units be more proactive in developing plans for prevention, production protection, and increased recovery after natural disasters - a particularly important factor for provinces that are often affected by storms and floods.

According to the assessment of localities, the program has been implemented promptly, transparently and in accordance with actual needs. The support of the Vietnam Cooperative Union and ILO is considered an important resource contributing to supporting people to overcome difficulties, together with the Government to effectively implement the Quang Trung Campaign. Many cooperatives expressed their excitement at receiving practical support, creating motivation to continue to overcome damage, stabilize life and production.

Previously, the Prime Minister issued Official Dispatch No. 234/CD-TTg dated November 30, 2025 on launching and implementing the Quang Trung Campaign - a campaign to rapidly rebuild and repair houses for households affected by natural disasters in the Central region.
