According to Official Dispatch No. 05/CD-PCTT of the City's Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense, on the morning of September 3, storm YAGI entered the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea, becoming storm No. 3 in 2024.
At 7:00 a.m., the center of the storm was at approximately 18.4 degrees North latitude; 119.8 degrees East longitude, in the northeastern sea area of the North East Sea. The strongest wind near the center of the storm was level 8 (62-74 km/h), gusting to level 11, moving in the West Northwest direction, at approximately 20-25 km/h.
To proactively cope with the developments of storm No. 3 and minimize damage caused by natural disasters, the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Nang City requested the City Border Guard Command and the Da Nang Coastal Information Station to promptly notify owners of vehicles and boats operating at sea of the location, direction of movement and developments of the storm.
Thereby, proactively prevent; escape from or do not enter dangerous areas; call on ships to urgently come ashore or find safe shelter.
Dangerous areas in the East Sea in the next 24 hours: North of latitude 17.0N; East of longitude 115.5E (dangerous areas will be adjusted depending on the storm's developments). Pay special attention to 72 vehicles operating in the Gulf of Tonkin and the North of the East Sea - Hoang Sa.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Nang City requested the City Border Guard Command to organize the counting, strictly manage and maintain communication with ships still operating at sea; focus on guiding and urging fishing boats to immediately leave the dangerous area.
In addition, proactively manage ships going out to sea under the direction of the Chairman of the City People's Committee; regularly provide information on ships to the City's Command Committee for Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense.
The Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of departments, branches, districts and related units closely monitor the developments of storm No. 3 to proactively handle possible situations and maintain contact with the Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Search and Rescue and Civil Defense of Da Nang City.
