On May 14, Provincial Party Secretary, Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Council Ngo Chi Cuong had a working session with the Standing Committee of Tan Phuoc 2 Commune Party Committee on the situation of implementing political tasks, socio-economic development and local government operation after the merger.
At the working session, Provincial Party Secretary Ngo Chi Cuong requested the locality to proactively propose industrial park and cluster development planning. At the same time, focus on completing transportation, irrigation, and digital infrastructure to expand investment attraction space, and promote the potential and advantages of the locality.

In addition, the commune needs to improve the efficiency of public investment, consolidate cooperative activities to increase production and consumption links; orient the development of more suitable crops and livestock in addition to key crops. The Provincial Party Secretary also requested Tan Phuoc 2 to continue to promote the application of digital technology in management, administration and improve the quality of grassroots cadres.
According to the report of the Tan Phuoc 2 Commune Party Committee, after the merger, the government apparatus basically operates stably and smoothly. The locality is currently implementing a public investment capital plan for 2026 of more than 14.4 billion VND, focusing on implementing 4 key transport projects serving production and people's livelihoods.

Agriculture continues to be the key sector with key crops such as pineapple and fruit trees being maintained stably. The rate of trained workers reached 70%, while the rate of processing dossiers correctly and ahead of schedule at the Public Administration Service Center reached 100%.
However, the locality still faces many difficulties when the technical infrastructure system, transportation, electricity, water and irrigation are not synchronized; investment resources are still limited, and clean land funds do not meet the requirements of attracting businesses and investors.
The Party Committee of Tan Phuoc 2 commune proposed that the province support supplementing professional personnel in the remaining areas; invest in upgrading facilities, information technology infrastructure and support planning concentrated commodity production areas to create a foundation for attracting investment and promoting local economic development.
