On April 12, the Gia Lai Provincial Economic Zone Management Board said that industrial clusters currently operating in the province have been filled with about 81% of the area.
This is a positive sign, showing the effectiveness in attracting investment and exploiting infrastructure, while affirming the increasingly important role of industrial clusters in economic development.
According to the industrial cluster development plan integrated in the Provincial Plan for the period 2021–2030, vision to 2050, Gia Lai is expected to have 99 industrial clusters with a total area of more than 5,412 ha.
This plan aims to meet the needs of expanding production, attracting businesses and promoting economic restructuring towards industrialization.
In the first quarter of 2026 alone, the province decided to establish 8 more industrial clusters with a total area of 586 hectares. This move shows the locality's proactiveness in preparing land funds, anticipating new investment waves, especially in the context of increasing demand for production land.
Accumulated to date, Gia Lai has had 70/99 industrial clusters decided to be established, with a total area of more than 3,076 hectares.
Of which, 47 industrial clusters have been put into operation, providing more than 1,662 hectares of industrial land for businesses to implement projects.
The high occupancy rate at operating clusters not only reflects the attractiveness of the investment environment but also shows efficiency in planning, infrastructure investment and business support.
The development of industrial clusters has made an important contribution to solving employment and improving income for workers, especially in rural areas.
At the same time, this model also helps centralize production activities, limit environmental pollution in residential areas and improve management efficiency.
However, before the high occupancy rate, Gia Lai is also facing urgent requirements for expanding land funds, improving planning quality and synchronously investing in technical infrastructure.
The development of industrial clusters in the coming time needs to be associated with choosing suitable industries, prioritizing clean technology with high added value to ensure sustainable development.
