On January 10, Kim Ngan Commune Police (Quang Tri province) said that from August 15, 2025, the commune has implemented the model "Exchange rice, necessities for weapons, explosives, supporting tools" and organized propaganda and mobilization of people to hand over weapons, explosives, supporting tools and firecrackers.
This model aims to encourage people to voluntarily hand over dangerous items; each participating case will receive rice and essential necessities, showing the concern and respect of the Police force for the spirit of law compliance of people in the area.
Immediately after the propaganda session, the Commune Police received 1 homemade gun, 2 electric batons, 3 knives of various types, 2 rudimentary weapons and many other sharp knives. Since then, Kim Ngan Commune Police have received 4 more homemade guns and 1 box of firecrackers voluntarily handed over by the people.
The implementation of the model has received high consensus and support from the people, contributing to preventing legal violations and maintaining security and order in the area. In the coming time, the Commune Police will continue to promote propaganda and mobilize people to join hands in building a safe and civilized locality.
