According to the Plan to organize the 2026 - 2027 school year opening ceremony at educational institutions in the province signed and promulgated by Vice Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Huynh Minh Tuan, the opening ceremony will be organized uniformly on the morning of September 5 in a streamlined spirit, with students as the center. For schools organizing the reception of first-grade students, welcoming arts performances will not exceed 3 performances. Officials, teachers and students attend the national general opening ceremony program according to the plan of the Ministry of Education and Training.

The province's main bridge point is located at Nguyen Dinh Chieu High School (My Tho ward), directly connected to the Ministry of Education and Training's bridge point. The remaining educational institutions follow the program via online connection or appropriate television and radio channels. Educational institutions absolutely do not extend the ceremony part, do not organize additional ceremonial speeches after the general program. The time after the opening ceremony is reserved for close and practical educational and annual activities.
The opening ceremony is held right at the main school or school point, branch. Units do not transfer students from school points to the main school to attend the ceremony if the movement does not ensure traffic safety or causes difficulties and troubles for students and parents.
Provincial leaders will attend the opening ceremony at some educational institutions in the area. On this occasion, the provincial education sector coordinated with the Association for Promoting Education and sponsoring units to award "Overcoming Difficulties to Study Well" scholarships to students in difficult circumstances, thereby encouraging and motivating them to enter the new school year.
Organizing the opening ceremony in a solemn, practical, and not ostentatious direction is expected to create a gentle, positive start, focusing on learners and educational activities in the 2026 - 2027 school year.
