The working delegation of the Fire and Rescue Police Department (PCCC and CNCH) of An Giang Provincial Police in coordination with Rach Gia Ward Police organized a practical inspection of fire safety assurance at Mega Rach Gia Supermarket and some electric car charging points operated by private individuals in the ward.
The inspection content focuses on electrical systems, protective equipment, fire safety distance, on-site fire fighting equipment arrangement as well as handling plans when incidents occur. At the same time, functional forces directly guide establishments to raise awareness of prevention, proactively inspect and maintain electrical equipment and charging systems to minimize the risk of fire and explosion.
Through actual inspection, it is shown that, in general, the facilities comply quite well with fire prevention and fighting regulations; the electrical system is basically installed to ensure safety, fully equipped with fire extinguishers, regulations, signs and arranged with appropriate charging areas.

To ensure fire prevention and fighting safety, charging points need to be invested and installed in accordance with technical standards, ensuring a safe electrical system and having all necessary conditions according to regulations.
According to experts, fires related to lithium batteries often create toxic smoke, the speed of fire spreads quickly, causing danger to people, especially in residential areas and many houses. Faced with the above situation, the Fire and Rescue Police force of the Provincial Police continues to strengthen inspection, guidance and propaganda for establishments that install charging stations and electric vehicle battery exchange stations; and at the same time promote propaganda and guidance for people to raise awareness of safe electricity use; recommend not to use charging devices of unknown origin, not to charge batteries for long periods of time continuously and not to arrange charging areas near flammable items.
Mr. Nguyen Hoang Y - taxi driver - shared: "In the process of using electric vehicles, I always pay attention to charging the battery according to the manufacturer's instructions, using quality-assured charging devices and regularly checking the electrical system before charging. When charging the car, I also choose a ventilated place, not near flammable objects and do not charge overnight to avoid unexpected fire and explosion incidents.
In addition, functional forces also mobilize facilities to equip fire warning systems, fire extinguishers, automatic power cuts and arrange separate, airy charging areas to ensure safety for people. Fire prevention and fighting at electric vehicle charging points is not only the responsibility of functional forces but also requires the joint efforts of the entire community.
Colonel Pham Manh Hung - Head of the Fire and Rescue Police Department, An Giang Provincial Police - said: "Through actual inspection, most facilities have paid attention to investing in equipment, arranging charging areas to ensure safety and comply well with fire prevention and fighting regulations. However, people and businesses need to regularly check the electrical system, charging equipment, use equipment with clear origins, not charge batteries for long periods of time continuously and proactively equip on-site fire fighting equipment to promptly handle when fire and explosion incidents occur.
