Small skills - big meanings
In a hurried life, accidents can happen at any time. Equipping first aid skills becomes essential to protect yourself and those around you.
Mr. Doan Dao Minh Duc (Ho Chi Minh City), founder of AidFirst, said that every skill, no matter how small, can save a life and make a big difference for the community.
"In just over half a year, aidFirst has directly trained more than 15,000 students from primary to secondary schools in many provinces and cities such as Vinh Long, Ben Tre, Dong Thap, Binh Duong, Ho Chi Minh City and Bien Hoa - Dong Nai," Mr. Duc added.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Ngoc Bich - Deputy Director of the Department of Education and Training of Vinh Long said that the aidFirst project has reached more than 8,000 students and 32 school health workers in Vinh Long.
Students and staff practice basic skills such as drowning emergency care, bananas, temporary stabilization, first aid in burns, falls, injuries and cardiopulmonary resuscitation.
We acknowledge the practicality and significance of aidFirst. Equipping students with first aid knowledge helps them protect themselves and spread community responsibility, Ms. Bich added.
Learning to practice - confidently handle
Dr. Vu Kiet Duong (Cho Ray Hospital) said that the training method combines theory and practice, students participate in hypothetical situation games, from drowning, burning, falling to food poisoning, helping to remember quickly and handle it properly.
Each basic first aid skill, when implemented correctly, can save lives and make a big difference in the results of emergency situation handling.
"The program also received support from Urgo Medical, giving Ministry of Health-standard first aid bags to teachers and students, helping them prepare to respond to emergency situations at school," Mr. Duong added.

Student Nguyen Thi Hong Khuyen (Huu Thanh A Secondary School) said that the training session helped her know how to deal with when friends had an accident. Before, I just stood there looking, now I am much more confident.
Mr. Nguyen Toan Vinh (Chief Principal of Tra On Secondary School) said that aidFirst helps children confidently handle dangerous situations and spread the spirit of humanity in school and the community.
aidFirst plans to expand to many schools and communities, to help each person become a first supporter when an incident occurs, contributing to building a healthy, dynamic young generation and a safe and civilized community.
