Since 2018, the Korean Ministry of Employment and Labor has proposed to Vietnam to coordinate the implementation of a project to recruit workers in the core industry under the Foreign Employment Permit Program (EPS Program).
Since 2018, the Overseas Labor Center (Ministry of Home Affairs) has recruited and sent 764 workers to work in Korea under this project.
In 2026, the project to select workers to work in Korea in the core industry under the EPS Program continues to be implemented. Currently, the Overseas Labor Center has cooperated with the Korea Human Resources Development Agency to preliminarily select 518 workers.
In which, welding profession 407 people, molding profession 111 people, participate in vocational training courses and Korean language, expected to be held from July 6 - December 12, 2026.
Representatives of the Overseas Labor Center assessed that the project to recruit workers in the original industry under the EPS Program in 2026, with the advantage of having many priority policies, continues to open a "golden door" for workers who wish to work in Korea.
With an advanced working environment at Korean factories, helping workers improve in-depth professional skills. Workers have an advantage when switching to E7 visas - highly skilled workers to work long-term in Korea, or have the advantage of being highly skilled workers for large enterprises in Vietnam to recruit for work after returning home.
Statistics from the Center for Overseas Labor show that in the first half of the year, more than 3,000 workers were sent to work abroad under non-profit programs. Of which, the EPS Program alone is 2,878 people.
According to Mr. Dang Huy Hong - Director of the Overseas Labor Center, implementing the direction of the Ministry of Home Affairs, programs to send Vietnamese workers to work abroad in a non-profit form, through international agreements, need to be identified as a legitimate, transparent, safe channel and a pillar of "human resource diplomacy".
Each Vietnamese worker going abroad to work under a non-profit program is not only an individual seeking job opportunities, but also contributing to promoting the image of the country and people of Vietnam with hard work, discipline, responsibility and aspiration to rise up.
According to him, to promote efficiency, the work of sending workers to work abroad needs to be built into a complete "human resource cycle", from providing information, consulting, recruitment, foreign language training, vocational skills, orientation education, to managing and protecting the rights of workers during their time working abroad and supporting reintegration after returning home.
