On March 22, at the longest brick-ceramic and flower road in Vietnam in Long Chau ward, the Provincial Police coordinated with the Vinh Long Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism to organize the Launching Ceremony of "Olympic Running Day - For National Health - For National Security" 2026, attracting more than 3,000 officers, soldiers, students and people to participate.
Speaking at the ceremony, Mr. Dang Van Chinh - Standing Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee - emphasized that the participation of more than 3,000 people has shown the strong spread of the physical exercise movement in the community.
This is a practical activity towards the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of Vietnam's Sports and Physical Training sector and the 80th anniversary of the Traditional Day of the People's Police Force, while affirming the role of physical training in building a comprehensively developed human being.
According to Mr. Dang Van Chinh, the Olympic Running Day is not only a simple sports activity but also contributes to consolidating the great national unity bloc, raising self-discipline, building a healthy and civilized lifestyle. Thereby, contributing to pushing back social evils and maintaining security and order in the area.
The event was organized simultaneously from the provincial level to the grassroots level, with the large participation of the armed forces, union members, youth and people. The coordination between sectors and units was carefully prepared, ensuring safety, creating a lively and exciting atmosphere.
At the launching ceremony, provincial leaders called on each citizen to choose a suitable sport for themselves, maintain regular training to improve health, serve learning, labor and contribute to building Vinh Long homeland to become increasingly developed.
