High risk of drowning in children, Ha Tinh focuses on prevention

TRẦN TUẤN |

Ha Tinh - The hot season has arrived, the risk of children drowning is high when swimming in ponds, lakes, rivers, and streams, so functional agencies have implemented drowning prevention solutions.

On April 11, the Fire and Rescue Police Department of Ha Tinh Provincial Police informed that the unit had just coordinated with local authorities and schools in the northern communes of Ha Tinh province to implement many measures to propagate drowning prevention and control.

At locations of rivers, streams, ponds, lakes... with potential drowning risks, local police have placed warning signs "Dangerous deep water areas - drowning prevention".

Propaganda work at schools is promoted in a practical direction, focusing on a number of recommendations: Do not bathe, swim, or play in dangerous areas, especially places without supervision or rescue forces.

Families and parents need to strengthen management and supervision of children; absolutely do not let children arbitrarily approach rivers, ponds, and lakes.

Proactively equip themselves with knowledge, skills to prevent and combat drowning and skills to handle situations when incidents occur.

When detecting risks or drowning accidents, it is necessary to quickly notify local authorities or functional forces for timely handling.

On April 11, Thach Ha Commune Police coordinated with the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union of the commune to organize the installation of warning signs in high-risk areas such as ponds, lakes, rivers and streams in the area.

This action is to remind everyone, especially children and teenagers, to raise awareness of preventing drowning accidents.
