Formula for calculating grade 10 admission scores in Ho Chi Minh City
This year's 10th grade entrance exam takes place in two days, June 1st and 2nd, with more than 151,000 candidates taking the exam. Public high schools in the city enroll about 118,500 students, equivalent to about 78% of candidates taking the exam with a chance of passing. For grade 10, the scores of exam subjects (Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language) are all calculated with a coefficient of 1. The admission score is the total score of 3 exams plus priority and encouragement points (if any).
Admission score = Literature + Math + Foreign Language + priority points, encouragement.
Candidates who are considered for admission must take all 3 exams and no exam is scored 0. Previously, students had registered 3 aspirations in order of priority from highest to lowest. Students who are admitted to which aspiration must enroll in that aspiration and cannot change it.
