Red River in Phu Tho is " quenched" after a series of record dry days
As Lao Dong newspaper has reported, in April 2026, the water level of the Thao River (main stream of the Red River) section passing through Lao Cai and Phu Tho provinces reached a record low.
At Yen Bai station (now Lao Cai province), on April 27, the water level dropped to 22.81m - the lowest level in history.
Similarly, at Phu Tho station, the lowest water level in history was also recorded. At 13:00 on April 16, the measured water level was only 10.14m.

According to records of Lao Dong Newspaper reporters in mid-May, the image of the Red River section passing through Phu Tho province has changed, as the river begins to have small floods at the beginning of the season.

Dong Nai starts construction of 3 traffic road projects in June
On May 12, information from the Dong Nai City Construction Investment Project Management Board, according to the plan, 2 projects to upgrade and expand roads 769, 773 and the road 770B construction project will be simultaneously started in June 2026.

The project to upgrade and expand road 769 is nearly 30 km long, starting point intersecting with National Highway 1 at Dau Giay intersection, Dau Giay ward; ending point intersecting with National Highway 51 at Loc An intersection, Long Thanh ward. The project is expanded with a scale of 6-8 lanes, total investment of nearly 5,900 billion VND. The project increases connectivity, shortens travel time from localities in Dong Nai city and the Central Highlands and South Central Coast provinces in general to Long Thanh airport.

Traffic diversion of Vung Ang - Bung expressway to install monitoring system
On May 12, Highway Traffic Police Team No. 4 (Traffic Police Department) said that on May 12 and 13, 2026, traffic diversion will be organized on the Vung Ang - Bung expressway to serve construction, installation of monitoring and traffic control systems.
On May 12, from 7 am to 11:30 am, functional forces cut roads in both directions from the Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection (Km597+900) to the QL12A - Ba Don intersection (Km605+400).
For vehicles traveling in the North - South direction, vehicles will leave the expressway at the Tien Chau - Van Hoa intersection, move along DT22 road to National Highway 1A to continue their journey and can rejoin the expressway at the QL12A - Ba Don intersection or subsequent intersections.
In the South - North direction, vehicles exit the expressway at the QL12A - Ba Don intersection, circulate along National Highway 12A and National Highway 1A to continue moving to the North.
