HCMC deploys giving each citizen 100,000 VND on September 2, the amount spent is more than 1,010 billion VND
On August 31, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee issued a document on supplementing the state budget estimate for 2025 to implement the policy of giving gifts to the people, on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
In particular, the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee approved an additional budget with a total amount of more than 1,010 billion VND for the Ho Chi Minh City Police and communes, wards, and special zones to implement the gift-giving policy, including more than 989.34 billion VND from the central budget expenditure estimate in 2025; and more than 20.88 billion VND from the Ho Chi Minh City budget reserve.

Heavy rain causes flooding and landslides in many mountainous communes of Nghe An
On August 31, Mr. Lo Duong Khanh - Chairman of the People's Committee of Tam Thai Commune (Nghe An) - said that heavy rain had damaged 7 houses in Na Tong, Lung, and Can villages due to landslides.
On the night of August 30, the commune had to organize the evacuation of 20 high-risk households in Xop Nam village to safety. This is the third time in a month that the commune has had to evacuate people to avoid floods, said Mr. Khanh.
