Ho Chi Minh City buses are free of tickets, passenger volume increases by 14% in just one day
On July 2nd, the Ho Chi Minh City Public Transport Management Center said that on July 1st, all 134 bus routes under the support program carried out 17,748 trips, transporting 273,944 passengers, averaging about 15.4 passengers per trip.
Compared to June 30, passenger volume increased by about 14%. Compared to June 24, 2026, passenger volume increased by about 26%; and compared to the same period on July 1, 2025, the increase reached about 28%. This is considered a positive sign after the city implemented a widespread bus ticket exemption policy.

670 biological samples in Can Tho set off for Hanoi to find the names of the martyrs
On July 2nd, at the Can Tho City Martyrs' Cemetery, Steering Committee 515 of the city organized an incense offering ceremony and sent 670 samples of remains of unidentified martyrs for DNA testing at the Military Forensic Institute (Hanoi). According to Steering Committee 515, in the past time, 2 Sample Taking Teams have excavated 807 graves of unidentified martyrs. Through the process of analyzing and classifying according to technical procedures, the Teams have collected 670 samples of remains of martyrs that meet the conditions to serve the testing work.

The transportation team of Steering Committee 515 proceeded to safely move all 670 biological samples to a specialized mobile vehicle to Can Tho International Airport to bring samples to Hanoi.

Prolonged heavy rain in Lao Cai causes landslides on many national highways and provincial roads
On the morning of July 2nd, information from the Lao Cai Provincial Department of Construction said that from June 30th to July 1st, heavy rain in the area caused landslides and local damage on some key traffic routes. According to reports, the inspection scope includes 9 national highways, 27 provincial roads and 17 other roads managed and maintained by the Department of Construction. Through review, there were no flooding or prolonged congestion on national highways, while the local road system recorded 2 landslide points causing temporary traffic congestion.
At about 7 am on July 1st, at Km112+850, DT160 route (Bao Yen commune area), a positive taluy landslide occurred, soil and rocks spilled onto the road surface. At about 8 am on the same day, at Km85+700 on DT159 route (Ban Lien commune), another landslide occurred in a similar situation, causing traffic obstruction in a short time. Initial statistics show that rain and floods caused positive taluy landslides of about 8,814m3, negative taluy landslides of about 72m and damaged about 870m2 of sidewalks and road surface.
