According to the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, coming out of the pandemic and affected by uncertainties in the world economy and politics, Ho Chi Minh City's GRDP growth in 2021 decreased sharply at -5.36%, but in 2022 it recovered and increased by 9.03%.
In 2023 - 2024, despite many difficulties and challenges, Ho Chi Minh City's economy continues to recover positively, shifting towards modernity, with a fairly good growth rate. The estimated average GRDP growth rate in the period of 2021 - 2025 is about 5.3%/year.
If calculated after the COVID-19 period (from 2022 to present), the average growth of Ho Chi Minh City is estimated at 7.7 - 7.9%.
Total budget revenue in 5 years (2020-2024) will reach more than 2.1 million billion VND, an average of over 400,000 billion VND per year, contributing to the state budget of about 24%. The scale of the retail market increased 1.6 times and exports (an increase of 1.02 times compared to the time of the COVID-19 pandemic).
