An Giang - Functional forces discovered an unlicensed business establishment with the act of buying and selling electric shock tools used for fishing.

On June 5, the Anti-Corruption, Economic, Anti-Smuggling, and Environmental Crime Investigation Police Department of An Giang Provincial Police said that they had inspected and discovered an unlicensed business establishment with the act of buying and selling electric shock tools used for fishing, seizing 216 sets of electric shockers.

Previously, the Police Department for Investigation of Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes coordinated with Thanh Hung Commune Police to inspect a kiosk at Kenh Ranh market, group 9, Nguyen Van Thoi hamlet, Thanh Hung commune owned by Nguyen Vu Phuong (born in 1980, residing in Thanh Hung commune, An Giang province).

Through inspection, it was discovered that Phuong was organizing the purchase and sale of electric shock tools used for fishing. At the scene, Tran Thi Hoa (born in 1995, residing in Ngoc Chuc commune, An Giang province) was hired by Phuong to package electric shock tools to deliver to customers. Continuing to check Phuong's residence about 30 meters away, many electric shock tools and equipment serving livestreaming on social networks for advertising and sales were discovered. Exhibits seized included 216 electric shock tools, of which 137 were packaged and 79 were unpacked. Electric shock tools were sold by Phuong at prices from 600,000 VND/set or more, depending on the type of product.

Through working, Phuong confessed that from the beginning of 2025 to now, she has used social media accounts to livestream and post videos advertising electric shock devices to find customers. The above goods were purchased by Phuong from Nguyen Minh Kha (born in 1985), Tran Van Bac (born in 1991) and Huynh Van Them (born in 1997), all residing in Thanh Hung commune, An Giang province. After buying them, Phuong hired workers to pack them at home and then resold them to customers who needed to catch seafood. On average, 40 to 50 electric shock devices are consumed each month. According to initial verification results, Phuong has sold about 680 electric shock devices to the market.

Currently, the Department of Police for Investigation of Corruption, Economic, Smuggling, and Environmental Crimes of the Provincial Police continues to consolidate the file, verify and clarify, and handle according to the provisions of law.
