Gia Lai - While swimming in the sea with a group of friends, an 11-year-old boy unfortunately was swept away by waves and drowned.

On the afternoon of July 5, in an exchange with Lao Dong Newspaper, leaders of Hoai Nhon Ward People's Committee (Gia Lai province) said that local authorities had visited and encouraged the family of an 11-year-old boy who drowned in the area.

According to initial information, at about 4 pm on July 4, a group of 6 children including Nguyen Tran V.S. (born 2011), Vo Dinh T. (born 2011), Nguyen Pham G.H. (born 2011), Nguyen Hoang T.N. (born 2015), Nguyen Nhat T. (born 2014), all residing in Truong An neighborhood (Hoai Nhon ward) and Nguyen Tan L. (born 2015, residing in Hoai Nhon Nam ward) invited each other to swim at Hoai Thanh beach.

At about 5:30 pm on the same day, while 5 children were swimming, they were suddenly swept away by the waves. 3 children swam ashore on their own, while Nguyen Nhat T. and Nguyen Tan L. struggled in the middle of the sea because they did not know how to swim.

At this moment, teacher Nguyen Trong H. - a teacher at Hoai Huong Primary School No. 3 (Hoai Nhon Dong ward) - who was walking on the beach discovered the incident. Teacher H. immediately swam out to save Nguyen Nhat T., while Nguyen Tan L. was swept away by the waves and went missing.
