With the theme "Gia Lai Workers: Innovation and creativity, improving labor productivity", Workers' Month 2026 in Gia Lai province is a peak political and emulation activity to promote the spirit of solidarity, creativity, and pioneering of union members and workers (ĐV, NLĐ), contributing to the implementation of socio-economic development goals of the locality.
Trade union levels have organized many activities to care for the material and spiritual life of union members and workers, especially direct production workers.
78 grassroots trade unions (GTUs) have coordinated with units and businesses to organize programs "Connecting and Sharing", "Workers' Day", "Gratitude Journey - Spreading Love", "Thank you for your contribution"..., attracting more than 6,200 union members and workers to participate.

In which, more than 2,000 union members and workers in particularly difficult circumstances and 200 cases of work accidents and occupational diseases were supported and visited with a total budget of nearly 2.4 billion VND.
The "Trade Union Meal" program became a highlight of Workers' Month with more than 100 meals organized at factories and production workshops, attracting more than 15,000 union members and workers to participate, contributing to strengthening the connection between workers and trade union organizations and businesses.
Grassroots trade unions also coordinated with units and businesses to conduct periodic health checks, occupational disease screening and in-depth examinations for more than 25,600 turns of union members and workers.
The spiritual life of workers is taken care of through the "Workers of the Martial Land" Cup Football Tournament, 169 cultural and artistic programs and 296 sports tournaments, attracting more than 37,000 union members and workers to participate, helping to relieve pressure after working hours, improve health and strengthen solidarity.
Along with care activities, Trade Union levels organized 180 direct dialogues and 19 forums with the theme "Union members contribute opinions to build Vietnam Trade Unions in the new era", attracting more than 18,600 union members and workers to contribute opinions on salaries, regimes, social insurance, quotas and quality of lunch meals...

Through dialogue, 308 recommendations were resolved right at the grassroots level. Currently, there are still 24 complex recommendations that are being further coordinated by employers and functional agencies to handle.
The whole province newly admitted 4,740 union members, reaching 158% of the target; established 51 grassroots trade unions outside the state sector, reaching more than 104% of the plan. Grassroots trade unions introduced 328 outstanding union members for the Party to consider, of which 105 union members were admitted.
According to Vice Chairman of Gia Lai Provincial Labor Federation Nguyen Thi Thanh Thuy, besides the achieved results, the target for the number of union members participating in proposing initiatives, technical improvements, and solutions to improve labor productivity has not been completed.
The reason is that some grassroots trade unions have not closely followed the production emulation movement to guide employees to register initiatives; the process of appraising and reviewing initiatives requires high levels of dossiers, practicality, and profitability, so the review, synthesis, and recording of results at the grassroots level still face difficulties.
Workers' Month activities mainly still take place within the scope of the Trade Union organization, not creating a strong enough spread to mobilize the participation of all levels, sectors, localities and businesses. While resources and funds are still limited, many activities have not reached a large number of union members and workers as desired.
According to Ms. Thuy, for Workers' Month to be truly effective, Trade Union activities must take "satisfaction and trust of employees" as a measure, thereby building the Trade Union organization into a solid support for the working class.
Caring is not just about giving gifts on holidays, Tet or visiting when sick, but it is necessary to focus on solving core needs, such as developing Trade Union institutions, caring for material and spiritual life, especially social housing for workers.
Trade unions must proactively negotiate so that union members and workers can enjoy higher benefits in terms of salary, bonuses, productivity, rest time, safety conditions, labor hygiene and training, improving skills...", Ms. Thuy said.
