On the morning of March 27, at the 19th Dak Nong Provincial Party Executive Committee Conference, term XII, term 2020 - 2025, Mr. Do Tan Suong - Director of the Department of Home Affairs - provided information on the arrangement of administrative units.
According to Mr. Suong, the Ministry of Home Affairs has just completed the draft Resolution of the National Assembly Standing Committee on the arrangement of administrative units abolishing district level and merging commune level to submit to the Ministry of Justice for appraisal.
For Dak Nong, the whole province currently has 71 communes, wards and towns. According to the previous orientation, the Department of Home Affairs has proactively submitted to the Standing Committee a plan to rearrange 22 commune-level administrative units (a 70% reduction).
Currently, the document has also finalized the first criterion of reducing the minimum of 70% and the maximum of 75%. Thus, according to this criterion, Dak Nong province is expected to have a minimum of 18 commune-level units and a maximum of 21 commune-level units.
However, through consultation, most districts and cities hope to reduce the number of commune-level units to 21 - 22.
"Thus, no later than today (March 27), the Department of Home Affairs will report these plans to reorganize the commune level to the Provincial People's Committee for consideration" - Mr. Suong added.
