On April 9, the Traffic Safety Committee (TSC) of Quang Binh province said that the traffic accident situation in the province in the first quarter of 2025 is complicated.
In the first quarter of 2025, Quang Binh province had a total of 46 traffic accidents, killing 36 people and injuring 22 people. Compared to the same period in 2024, there were 9 fewer cases, down 16%; 7 more deaths, up 24%; 14 fewer injuries, down 39%.
Since the beginning of the year, the Provincial People's Committee has directed functional units to implement drastic solutions to curb traffic accidents. Along with implementing plans to propagate and disseminate laws on traffic safety (ATGT), the province also strengthens patrolling, control, and strictly handle violations, especially violations of alcohol concentration, overload, not wearing helmets and other violations.
The Provincial Traffic Safety Committee has mobilized maximum forces and vehicles, conducted 4,047 patrols, and fined 3,866 violations, with a fine of nearly 9 billion VND. In particular, topics such as alcohol concentration, overload and speed are all carefully checked, helping to reduce accidents.
According to statistics, Quang Ninh, Minh Hoa and Ba Don districts recorded a decrease in traffic accidents, while localities such as Le Thuy and Bo Trach had an increase in the number of cases.
To overcome this situation, the province continues to review and upgrade transport infrastructure, while strengthening management and ensuring traffic safety during holidays and tourist seasons. The authorities also actively coordinate the implementation of the "Safe School Gate" program, organize contests to learn about traffic safety laws for students, and maintain traffic safety models in residential areas.
In the context of May being the peak season, the Provincial Traffic Safety Committee requested to strengthen measures to ensure safety and prevent traffic accidents, especially in areas with high traffic density and key traffic routes.
