Introducing books, spreading reading culture
The Department of Culture and Sports of Ho Chi Minh City will host a book fair with the theme "Con Dao Legend" taking place from October 3-5 at Ton Duc Thang Park (special Con Dao area). The opening ceremony will take place on the evening of October 4 along with the art program with the theme " Poems written to shape the country".
This is an activity to celebrate the 1st Ho Chi Minh City Party Congress for the 2025-2030 term; at the same time, to celebrate the 73rd anniversary of the Traditional Day of the Vietnam Publishing, Printing and Distribution Industry (October 10, 1954 - October 10, 2025).
The book fair included exchange programs and seminars on reading culture, authors and works. And spread the reading program to many schools with attractive topics such as: storytelling with the future - reading with children, Storytelling with the future - Letter to the future and Storytelling with the future - Your dream.
At the same time, the program also organized an introduction to the work "The children of Saigon in the infer realm of Con Dao", with the participation of the author and former prisoners of Con Dao; introduced Nguyen An Ninh Digital Library - Southern Specialist.
On this occasion, the program also organized a bookcase donation and developed a reading culture in Con Dao. Thereby, more than 2,500 paper and electronic books were donated to organizations and units in the special zone. At the same time, organize the awarding of practical scholarships to students in difficult circumstances.

In the book fair, the exhibition areas are organized under many topics including: "President Ho Chi Minh" with classic works and valuable documents; "Accessments in socio-economic development of Ho Chi Minh City" reflecting innovation, creativity and development mark of the period 2020-2025.
