On July 19, Lao Cai Provincial Police said that Luong Thinh Commune Police had just administratively fined 5 cases of using electric shock tools to illegally exploit seafood, with a total amount of 20 million VND.
Previously, on July 14, in the process of performing the task of ensuring security, order and fighting against violations of the law in the field of protecting aquatic resources, Luong Thinh Commune Police discovered 5 cases of using electric shock tools to illegally exploit aquatic products.
Functional forces have made records and brought the violating cases to the headquarters for work and handling according to regulations.
Through verification, the above cases have acts of using electric shock tools to exploit aquatic products but do not use fishing boats and have not reached the level of criminal prosecution.
Based on Clause 1, Article 28 of Decree No. 38/2024/ND-CP dated April 5, 2024 of the Government stipulating penalties for administrative violations in the field of aquaculture, Luong Thinh Commune Police issued a decision to impose a fine of a total amount of 20 million VND.

According to Luong Thinh Commune Police, the use of electric shocks to exploit aquatic products is an act strictly prohibited by law, causing depletion of aquatic resources and affecting the ecological environment.
Strictly handling violations aims to raise awareness of law compliance, contributing to protecting aquatic resources and maintaining security and order in the area.
In the coming time, Luong Thinh Commune Police will continue to strengthen propaganda, coordinate patrols and inspections, promptly detect and strictly handle acts of using electric shock, explosives, toxic substances and destructive fishing methods according to the provisions of law.
At the same time, the police force recommends that people not use electric shocks and illegal fishing methods; proactively notify functional agencies when detecting violations to jointly protect aquatic resources and the ecological environment.
