On December 8, the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police Department said that the Ben Thanh Traffic Police Team had issued a fine for two teenagers who drove a bicycle on one wheel on Tran Hung Dao Street (old District 1), endangering other road users.
Previously, on the evening of December 7, while patrolling, the Ben Thanh Traffic Police Team discovered two teenagers, N.D.K (born in 2011, residing in Bay Hien Ward) and N.T.H (born in 2009, residing in Tan Dinh Ward) riding a bicycle on a wheel, weaving on the road, so they asked both of them to stop, stop their behavior and make a record of the fine according to regulations.
According to the Traffic Police Department of Ho Chi Minh City Police, the act of riding a bicycle on a bicycle is considered to have a high risk of causing accidents. Drivers are likely to lose balance, have difficulty handling unexpected situations, and may fall or collide with other vehicles.
The Law on Road Traffic Order and Safety strictly prohibits the act of riding a bicycle on one wheel. According to Decree 168/2024/ND-CP, violators will be fined from 300,000 to 400,000 VND.
