How do athletes who achieve excellent results enjoy special treatment?

Clause 1, Article 2 of Decree No. 349/2025/ND-CP stipulating regimes and policies for members of sports teams participating in concentrated training and competition (effective from February 15, 2026) stipulates the subjects of application as follows:

1. Sports team members include:

a) Coaches, athletes of national team, youth team; national team, youth team, talented team of industries, provinces, and centrally-run cities who are receiving salaries from the state budget;

b) Coaches of national team, youth team; national team, youth team, talented team of industries, provinces, and centrally-run cities who do not receive salaries from the state budget;

c) Athletes of national team, youth team; national team of sectors, provinces, and centrally-run cities not receiving salaries from the state budget;

d) Athletes of youth teams, talented teams of sectors, provinces, and centrally-run cities who do not receive salaries from the state budget;

d) Medical staff (doctors, medical techniques) of national teams, national youth teams receiving or not receiving salaries from the state budget.

Article 7, Decree No. 349/2025/ND-CP stipulates that athletes who achieve excellent results are entitled to monthly benefits according to specific levels as follows:

a) Olympic Games gold medal: 40,000,000 VND/person/month;

b) Olympic Games Silver Medal: 30,000,000 VND/person/month;

c) Olympic Games bronze medal, ASIAD gold medal, Paralympic Games gold medal: 20,000,000 VND/person/month;

d) Silver Medal of Paralympic Games: 15,000,000 VND/person/month;

d) Passing the qualifying round to participate in the Olympic Games, Bronze Medal of the Paralympic Games: 10,000,000 VND/person/month.

2. Time to enjoy benefits: Subjects specified in Clause 1 of this Article are entitled to benefits calculated from the time of achieving achievements at the Congress to the next Congress.

3. In case athletes simultaneously qualify for many regimes specified in Clause 1 of this Article, they are only entitled to the highest level of regime.

Thus, from February 15, 2026, athletes who achieve excellent results may be entitled to special preferential treatment regimes according to the above regulations.
