Article 2 of Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT regulating the roadmap for applying the ratio of biofuel to traditional fuel blending in Vietnam stipulates the subjects of application as follows:
1. This Circular applies to petroleum traders; organizations and individuals producing, importing, mixing, blending, and trading biofuel and biofuel; other relevant agencies, organizations and individuals in Vietnam.
2. The mandatory ratio of bio-diese fuel mixed with diesel fuel used for diesel engines is not applied.
3. The ratio of biofuel to traditional fuel for fuel used in the aviation industry and gasoline and specialty oils will not be applied to functional units to serve security and defense goals as prescribed by competent authorities.
Article 4 of Circular No. 50/2025/TT-BCT regulating the roadmap for applying the ratio of biofuel to traditional fuel in Vietnam stipulates the roadmap for applying the ratio of biofuel and traditional fuel combination as follows:
1. From June 1, 2026, lead-free gasoline (according to current national technical standards) must be combined and blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide.
2. Continue to mix and match E5RON92 gasoline to use for gasoline engines until December 31, 2030.
3. In the process of implementing the roadmap to apply the ratio of biofuel to traditional fuel, based on the actual situation of economy, society, technology, supply, demand, prices and other related fluctuations, the Minister of Industry and Trade considered and decided to adjust the ratio of biofuel to traditional fuel, adding mineral gasoline products on the market suitable at each time to ensure energy security, environmental protection and protect the rights of consumers.
4. During the period when the mandatory use of B5 and B10 bio-dizens for diesel engines has not been regulated, organizations and individuals are encouraged to participate in the production, mixing, blending, trading and use of B5 and B10 bio-dizens.
Thus, from June 1, 2026, lead-free gasoline (according to current national technical regulations) must be combined and blended into E10 gasoline for use in gasoline engines nationwide. The blending and blending of E5RON92 gasoline to be used for gasoline engines until December 31, 2030.
