Ben Tre - Up to now, Ben Tre province has completed the construction of 4,049 houses, reaching 100% of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ben Tre province.

On June 25, the Steering Committee for the implementation of the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses in Ben Tre province held a conference to summarize the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in Ben Tre province.

In 2024, the total number of temporary and dilapidated houses in the province that will be supported for repair and rebuilding is 1,802 (for meritorious households, martyrs' relatives, poor households). In 2025, the total demand for housing support is 1,947 units (built 1,357 new units, repaired 590 units).

To date, the total number of completed houses is 4,049 units, reaching 100%. Of which, housing support for people with revolutionary contributions and martyrs' relatives is 545 houses (324 newly built, 221 repaired); Housing support under the Program to launch the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide is 2,676 houses (2,380 newly built, 296 repaired); Housing support for households in difficult circumstances is 828 houses (755 newly built, 73 repaired).

The total implementation cost is 217.6 billion VND, of which the budget is 99.12 billion VND, the socialized source is 118.48 billion VND. During the implementation of the organizations, unions, armed forces, and neighboring countries also supported about 18,000 more working days.

Speaking at the conference, Ms. Ho Thi Hoang Yen - Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ben Tre province - praised and acknowledged the efforts of Party committees at all levels, authorities, departments, branches, sectors, and organizations, especially the core role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels in the work of mobilizing, supervising and coordinating the implementation of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses in the province. Recognize the efforts and unity of the heart of businesses, organizations, individuals, philanthropists, armed forces, cadres, party members, union members, youth, and all people inside and outside the province; commend the spirit of self-reliance of households and the solidarity of the community.

The Secretary of the Ben Tre Provincial Party Committee emphasized that the success of the program to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses is even more meaningful when placed in the context that Ben Tre is preparing for a new development stage. The milestone on June 30, 2025 is of special significance, because in just a few days the province will start implementing the arrangement of administrative units according to the Resolution of the National Assembly with the new name Vinh Long province. The completion of this important social security goal is a strong affirmation and special responsibility of the Party, State, and the whole society in caring for policy families, meritorious people, poor, near-poor households, and households in difficult circumstances in the province.

On this occasion, 6 collectives and 9 individuals received certificates of merit from the Chairman of the People's Committee of Ben Tre province; The Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Ben Tre province commended 15 collectives and 30 individuals who actively participated in implementing the Movement "Joining hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses" launched by the Vietnam Fatherland Front system at all levels in 2024 - 2025.

Within the framework of the program, the People's Committee of Ben Tre province also organized the awarding of emulation forms and State-level commendation titles to collectives and individuals; including 2 individuals receiving the Second Class Labor Medal, 30 individuals receiving the Third Class Labor Medal, 2 individuals receiving the title of National Emulation Fighter, 8 collectives receiving the Emulation Flag of the Government.
