Lao Cai - Discovering a tired and panicked ethnic minority woman in the afternoon market area, Gia Phu Commune Police officers supported her to return to her family.

On May 7, Lao Cai Provincial Police informed that Gia Phu Commune Police had just coordinated to bring the lost woman home.

Previously, in the late afternoon of May 5, during patrols and grasping the situation in the afternoon market area of Dong Cam village, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giang - Head of the Area Police Team of Gia Phu Commune Police discovered a strange woman sitting crying in a state of fatigue and panic.

Realizing that the woman was not local and showed signs of exhaustion, Lieutenant Colonel Giang and the task force quickly approached, encouraged and took her to the commune police headquarters for care and information verification.

Through investigation, the woman is Ms. Lam Thi Soi (born in 1990), Tay ethnicity, from Ban Lien commune, Lao Cai province, registered permanent residence in Khuon Lung commune, Tuyen Quang province. When discovered, she did not have a phone, did not bring valuable assets, only a bag of clothes and more than 100,000 VND in cash.

Seeing Ms. Soi hungry and her health weakened after many days of being lost, Lieutenant Colonel Giang proactively bought cakes, milk and drinks for her to use temporarily. Due to limited communication skills in the common language, he also asked local people who knew Tay language to help translate to reassure her spirit and help her feel more secure.

Through conversation, Ms. Soi said that on April 27, she came for an examination at General Hospital No. 2 of Lao Cai province, then got lost and could not find her way home. Her family circumstances also faced many difficulties when her husband left, and the children followed their father.

By many verification and contact measures, at about 8:30 pm on the same day, Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giang connected with Ms. Soi's older brother, Mr. Vang A Suong in Ban Lien commune. Due to the distance from home to Gia Phu Commune Police being more than 130km, traveling was difficult, so the family asked permission to pick her up the next morning.

After reporting to the unit's leaders, Lieutenant Colonel Giang arranged accommodation, prepared food and drinks, and continued to encourage Ms. Soi to stabilize her spirits overnight.

By noon on May 6, relatives were present at Gia Phu Commune Police to welcome Ms. Soi back in emotion and joy after many days of losing contact.

Not only supporting care during their stay at the headquarters, officers of the Regional Police Team also provide additional food and travel expenses for the family before returning.

The simple but meaningful actions of Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Van Giang and Gia Phu Commune Police officers have left many emotions in the hearts of the people, contributing to spreading the image of People's Police soldiers who are close to the people, responsible, and dedicated to serving the people.
