Delegates expected innovation in the activities of the Vietnam Veterans Association, and at the same time proposed strengthening policies to support and care for the lives of officials and members.

On the sidelines of the VIII National Congress of the Vietnam Veterans Association, term 2026 - 2031, Ms. Tran Thi Sang - Member of the Standing Committee of the An Duong Ward Veterans Association, Hai Phong city - shared about the thoughts, aspirations and expectations of grassroots officials and members sent to the Congress.

Ms. Tran Thi Sang said that she carries the belief, expectations and responsibility of veteran members from the grassroots level.

We hope that in the 2026 - 2031 term, the Associations at all levels will continue to strongly innovate the content and methods of operation; have more practical initiatives to gather and encourage members to promote traditions, maintain faith in the leadership of the Party and the guidelines and policies of the State," Ms. Sang said.

According to Ms. Sang, the most important thing is that each veteran continues to preserve and promote the noble qualities of "Uncle Ho's soldiers" in the new period; be exemplary in life, actively participate in local movements and contribute to the development of the country.

Besides the expectations for innovation, representatives of the grassroots Veterans Association also expressed many concerns related to regimes and policies for officials and members.

What we are most concerned about now are policies for cadres and veteran members, especially those who have directly participated in combat and served in combat in battlefields. We hope the Congress and functional agencies will continue to pay attention to and study to improve appropriate preferential policies, ensure rights and contribute to encouraging the spirit of those who have made many contributions to the country," Ms. Sang shared.

According to Ms. Sang, having practical support policies suitable to actual conditions will contribute to improving the material and spiritual life of members, and at the same time encourage generations of veterans to continue to promote their roles and responsibilities in the cause of building and protecting the Fatherland.
