The Congress was attended by 130 official delegates. The Congress identified the motto "Solidarity - Innovation - Professionalism - Efficiency", towards building a modern association organization, promoting digital transformation and expanding the connection of humanitarian resources.
In the 2021 - 2026 term, Red Cross Societies at all levels in the area have mobilized, received and implemented more than 666.6 billion VND for humanitarian programs and projects, directly assisting more than 1.81 million people. Many movements such as Tet of Compassion, Humanitarian Month, Each organization, each individual associated with a humanitarian address and Nutrition for poor and disabled children have been effectively implemented, contributing to caring for the poor, people in difficult circumstances and vulnerable groups.
The voluntary blood donation movement continues to maintain positive results with 22,591 units of blood received, the rate of people participating in blood donation reaching over 2.8% of the population.
In the 2026 - 2031 term, the City Red Cross aims to establish an association organization in 100% of communes and wards, develop 5,000 members, 5,000 volunteers, assist 2,500 humanitarian addresses and mobilize over 650 billion VND for humanitarian activities.
Speaking at the congress, leaders of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Red Cross Society and city leaders proposed that associations at all levels continue to promote their core role in humanitarian work; innovate methods of mobilizing resources, strengthen connectivity between businesses, social organizations and international partners; shift from short-term support to sustainable livelihood support.
The Congress also emphasized the requirement to promote digital transformation, build a human resource database, improve publicity and transparency in resource management; and at the same time develop safe community models, adapt to natural disasters, and improve emergency relief capacity and community health care.
The Congress elected the Executive Committee of the City Red Cross Society term I consisting of 50 members, the Standing Committee consisting of 14 members. Mr. Le Tan Minh was elected to hold the position of Chairman of the Da Nang City Red Cross Society for the term 2026 - 2031.
