On the morning of March 11, the Steering Committee for the election of National Assembly deputies of the 16th term and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026–2031 term of Da Nang city held the 4th meeting to review the election preparation work. At the meeting, Mr. Le Ngoc Quang, Secretary of the City Party Committee, Head of the City Election Steering Committee, requested units to develop contingency plans to organize elections in unfavorable weather conditions, especially in mountainous, border, and island areas.
According to the report at the meeting, to date, the People's Committees of communes and wards in the city have completed the compilation and listing of voter lists at the commune-level People's Committee headquarters and 1,784 polling areas for voters to check and supervise. The total number of voters listed throughout the city is currently more than 2.1 million people and is still continuing to be updated and adjusted according to regulations.
Commune-level Election Commissions have received complete documents serving the election such as regulations, rules, and ballots. The work of decorating the polling area, distributing ballots to the Election Team and visual propaganda and mobilization with banners, slogans, and flyers is being further completed by localities.
Da Nang City Police have developed a plan to ensure traffic order and safety, organize traffic diversion on roads with large traffic volumes, especially polling areas located on main traffic axes. Da Nang Power Company prepares a backup power supply plan to ensure stable operation at polling stations if incidents occur.
Mr. Le Ngoc Quang requested agencies and localities to closely review voter lists, ensuring completeness, accuracy, no overlap, no omissions. The city also pays attention to specific voter groups such as people working far away, voters participating in the election for the first time, elderly people, disabled people, patients being treated at medical facilities, students and workers in industrial parks and construction sites.
In addition, localities need to proactively plan to organize voting in specialized areas, and at the same time complete all preparations before March 14. 3. The city continues to promote propaganda and widespread announcements to help voters understand the election date, location and voting time; strengthen the application of information technology in providing information and mobilizing voters to participate in the election.
City leaders also requested sectors to ensure electricity sources, communication, water supply, environmental sanitation and traffic safety on election day; and proactively plan to ensure political security and social order and safety before, during and after election day.
