In recent years, ethnic minority and mountainous areas in Binh Thuan province have had significant improvements thanks to the effective implementation of national target programs. At the end of June 2025, the People's Council of Binh Thuan province passed a Resolution on the allocation of state budget career capital in 2025 to implement the National Target Program for Socio-Economic Development in Ethnic Minority and Mountainous Areas in Binh Thuan province of more than 70.5 billion VND. Of which, nearly 55 billion VND has been allocated, the remaining more than 15.5 billion VND has not been allocated.

Funding is allocated to socio-economic development projects such as: solving the shortage of residential land, housing, production land, and domestic water. At the same time, develop sustainable agricultural and forestry production, attract investment such as supporting forest protection contracts, attracting investment in the area.

Currently, there are 34 ethnic minorities in Binh Thuan province with nearly 110,000 people and more than 26,300 households. The projects have contributed to improving living and production conditions and reducing poverty, helping ethnic minorities access social services.
