Khanh Hoa - From information in the 500 Days and Nights Campaign, a grave has been preserved by a family in Khanh Hoa for more than 70 years, hoping to find relatives for the martyr.

On August 12, at the tomb area of Mr. Bui Thu Do's family in Phu Nong Bac residential group, Tay Nha Trang ward, the Ward Military Command (CHQS) conducted verification of suspicious information about the burial place of martyr Tran Xuan Dong.

According to the family's account, during the resistance war against the French colonialists, martyr Tran Xuan Dong sacrificed himself along with martyr Nguyen Van The in the Cay Da - Quan Gieng area. After that, Mr. Nguyen Tria - the biological brother of martyr Nguyen Van The - brought the body of martyr Tran Xuan Dong to be buried at his family's land in Phu Nong Bac.

The two graves are buried close together, built of bricks and glazed. The grave of martyr Nguyen The was later known and worshiped by relatives; the grave believed to be of martyr Tran Xuan Dong has not been claimed by relatives.

For many years, Mr. Bui Thu Do's family has still taken care of, burned incense and cleaned the tomb. According to initial information, the tomb is still managed by the family and built relatively spaciously.

Information on the tombstones records martyr Tran Xuan Dong, native of Thanh Hoa, who sacrificed on April 16, 1952 (lunar calendar), in Khanh Hoa. The Military Command of Tay Nha Trang ward is continuing to compare information about his hometown, combat unit, operations, sacrifices and relatives of the martyr.

The Military Command of Tay Nha Trang Ward also requested agencies, units, veterans, historical witnesses and people, especially in Thanh Hoa, if they know information about martyr Tran Xuan Dong or relatives of martyrs, to provide it to functional agencies.

A small clue after more than 70 years can help reconnect information about a soldier who sacrificed in the war and pave the way for the deceased to return to their homeland and family.

Information can be sent to the Military Command of Tay Nha Trang Ward, No. 92 23/10 Street, Tay Nha Trang Ward, Khanh Hoa Province; phone 0258 650 9006.

The verification of martyr Tran Xuan Dong's grave is part of the effort to implement "Operation 500 days and nights to promote the search, repatriation and identification of martyrs' remains".
