On May 17, the Association for the Protection of Poor Patients - People with Disabilities and the Protection of Children's Rights of Lam Dong province said that the program of free cardiovascular examination and screening for children and adults in the province has just completed the first examination phase.

The program is co-organized with Tam Duc Heart Hospital at Pham Ngoc Thach Traditional Medicine Hospital in Lam Dong and Di Linh Regional Medical Center for two days, May 15-16.
According to statistics, there are 369 cases coming for examination and cardiovascular screening, of which 121 cases were performed with heart ultrasound for in-depth screening. Through examination, doctors discovered 10 cases requiring cardiovascular surgery intervention.
Among these, 6 cases were filed for surgery funding support at the end of 2026. The remaining four cases were indicated for hospitalization to continue monitoring and treatment.
The total budget for this examination, screening and surgery support phase is more than 700 million VND.
According to Mr. Nguyen Van Luc - Chairman of the Association for Supporting Poor Patients - People with Disabilities and Protecting Children's Rights of Lam Dong province, the program is of practical significance in helping people, especially children and households in difficult circumstances, access high-quality cardiovascular examination services.
In the coming time, the program will continue to be implemented in the eastern and western areas of Lam Dong province to support more people to be detected and treated for cardiovascular diseases in a timely manner.
