Revolutionary action movement and patriotic emulation are important driving forces

On the morning of May 12, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan - Member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, gave a speech with the theme "Accompanying Vietnamese workers in creative labor emulation, contributing to the successful implementation of national development goals".

On average, there are nearly 560 thousand initiatives each year, with a profit value of more than 20.5 trillion VND.

The Chairman of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor said that patriotic emulation movements among workers, civil servants, and laborers have been deployed synchronously and widely, closely following the political and professional tasks of the country, of each sector, locality, agency, unit, and enterprise.

Notably, the "Good Labor, Creative Labor" movement has become a driving force to promote initiatives, technology innovation, rationalization of production and improvement of working conditions, making an important contribution to increasing productivity, product quality, and production and business efficiency.

In addition, the movements "Good at state affairs, good at housework", "Green - Clean - Beautiful, ensuring occupational safety and health" are increasingly effective, helping to improve the working environment, creating conditions for union members and workers to affirm their self-worth. The movements and peak emulation periods on key national projects have helped union members and workers overcome difficulties, challenges, hardships, shorten construction time, complete projects ahead of schedule, making great contributions to the socio-economic development of the country.

In the period 2020 - 2025, through key programs such as "75,000 initiatives, overcoming difficulties, developing", "1 million initiatives - efforts to overcome difficulties, creativity, determination to overcome the COVID-19 pandemic" and the series of activities "Creative Labor Day", nearly 2.8 million initiatives were recognized and applied in practice, bringing about estimated profit value of nearly 103 trillion VND. On average, there are nearly 560 thousand initiatives each year, with a profit value of more than 20.5 trillion VND. It can be said that through emulation movements organized by the Trade Union, Vietnamese workers have left their deep mark in each project, each product, each achievement and progress of the country.

From the practical organization and launch of emulation movements in the past time, the Trade Union organization draws 5 valuable lessons learned. Among them, the most important thing is to closely link the emulation movement with the goal of socio-economic development of the country, political and professional tasks of the industry, locality, agency, unit, and enterprise so that the movements become practical, supported by the government and professional departments, and participated in and responded to by a large number of union members and workers.

Responsibility to accompany union members and workers to achieve double-digit growth goals

From practical experience in organizing, launching, and implementing emulation movements of the Trade Union organization, Mr. Nguyen Anh Tuan said that with the role of a socio-political organization of the working class - the core force, taking the lead in the cause of national development, the Vietnam Trade Union organization deeply understands its responsibility, accompanies union members and workers, and continues to innovate and improve the effectiveness of patriotic emulation movements under the chairmanship of the Vietnam Fatherland Front, through the synchronous, drastic, and substantive implementation of groups of solutions.

The first group of solutions is to widely launch the emulation movement "Good labor, high productivity, good income" associated with the "3 savings" campaign with the motto "good labor" is the foundation, "high productivity" is the requirement, "good income" is the result to aim for; while "3 savings" is a management method to reduce waste, increase value and improve competitiveness.

The second group of solutions is to strongly innovate the content and methods of organizing emulation movements in a substantive, quantitative, criteria-based, product-based, inspection-based, preliminary-review, and summary-based direction, and with the ability to measure specific results. Strengthen the application of technology and digital transformation in organizing the implementation, supervision, and evaluation of emulation movement results. Strengthen coordination and promote the strength of the entire political system, the Fatherland Front system, and member organizations.

The third group of solutions is to strongly innovate reward work in the direction of accuracy, timeliness, publicity, transparency, strongly focusing on the grassroots level, taking direct employees as the center, and taking practical efficiency as the highest measure. Research, propose, and negotiate with employers on a reward mechanism based on a profit-generating value ratio.

The 4th group of solutions is to mobilize union members and workers to actively study to improve their qualifications, professional skills, industrial style, and labor discipline, considering this as a fundamental solution to improve labor productivity sustainably. Emulation in the new stage must strongly arouse the spirit of self-learning, self-innovation, dare to think, dare to do, dare to improve, so that each worker becomes a creative subject directly participating in improving labor productivity.

The 5th group of solutions is to link the organization of emulation movements with the task of representing, caring for, and protecting the legitimate and lawful rights and interests of workers, ensuring that the achievement of increasing productivity must gradually be transformed into income and welfare, so that workers can enjoy benefits worthy of their efforts. Trade unions are not only places to organize movements but must truly be a warm home, a reliable support for union members and workers as directed by General Secretary and President To Lam at the visit and talk with workers in Ho Chi Minh City on April 27, 2026.
